That routine is one of many on a video tape (yes, VHS video tape) that I got from somebody in Turkey in the mid 1990s. Website I think is no longer functional. They were 10 bucks each and I got a set of six (10 bucks a pop? Worth it I thought) with several overlaps (same routine on different tapes).

The performances were geared probably to the tourist trade who wanted to see (and keep a memory of) hot looking ladies do belly dancing in skimpy (barely there) costumes.

Some of the dance routines are terrible, some are passable. If you watch them, the knowledgeable eye will know the difference.

I still have my set. I haven't looked at them in quite a while.

There's another row of clips of that sort, not near the fireplace but at a swimmingpool...
Adoré was trying to do samba fusion that's why she renounced on a skirt on the Monte Carlo Solos. But in a row of bellydance-performances it still looked like a bellydancer who forgot parts of her costume.

Sorry to see Turkish Belly Dancers in these outfits. There are really good dancers now and there were really good dancers back then. Most of them dresses very revealing. I am personally ashamed of dressing like that when I dance. This is one of the reason belly dancing occupation is not well respected in Turkey. I grow up in Turkey, never ever would think about becoming one....and now I am ...I am trained, professional, but never wear costumes show completely my bare legs (at least both of them all the way up) and the bras are tiny...
I bought a book from Turkey about Belly Dancing in Turkey written by Kemal Ozdemir....oh boy you should see some of these costumes, they dont look comfortable either.
