Re: on choreography and improvisation
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 4:52 PMSee, I agree if it's someone else's choreo, but I really like to dance to things I've choreographed myself. The music still inspired me, it just inspired me over a longer period of time.
That being said, I think life would be a lot easier if I could improvise well, but I still feel like I produce the best dance when I've carefully planned it out. -

Sat, May 10, 2008 - 10:12 AMyeah, i agree with that, if it inspires me well and i plan it out and know it, then yay! i can be really happy with it
impro i spend way to much time going "drats! what do i do now?", i therefore don't get to enjoy the dance as much....
as for other's choreos.... if i see a choreo i really like, i will learn it. of course i won't present it as if it were mine!! credit should always go to whose it rightfully is...
but yeah. learning other choreos can be sweet. our prof gave birth recently and so dosen't have time to come up with a new choreo, so we learned Entrance of the Stars (BDSS). it's sooo much fun to dance that! :)

Mon, May 12, 2008 - 7:33 AMI love Roxanne!!!! She is such a great talent and has such vast knowledge of the dance.
I was privileged to see her dance last Friday at Kira's Oasis in Centerville, OH. We were talking to her about her doing a DVD!! :) (Seems it's still in the planning stage right now.) -
