Re: precise and neat to watch
Thu, June 26, 2008 - 9:01 AMI'm not a tribal lady, but I can appreciate a great performance when I see it. What a fantastic job this young man did! What most impressed me were his turns - specifically his dead-on spotting and then immediately going into a pose that would have required a lot of balance and control of his core muscles. I hope there will be more postings of him in the future.

Re: precise and neat to watch
Thu, June 26, 2008 - 9:05 AMI really enjoyed his dancing but I wish people would start looking past the "Indigo's Greatest Hits" for music. There's a lot of great stuff out there! -

Re: precise and neat to watch
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 2:06 AMI agree, i'm SO bored of hearing all the same tribal tracks - i liked his opening one best as that was original and really enjoyed his moves. I would almost try not to use the indigo's favourite stuff as if you're doing tribal it is so predictable. SO many people using the same music at bellydance events. yawn!

Re: precise and neat to watch
Thu, June 26, 2008 - 9:57 AMHe did a great job of fusing all of the Indigo/tribal fusion superstars' characteristic moves/stylization -- and all to an Indigo supermix! Not that this is bad because it wasn't like "too Zoe" or "too Kami". Well done!

Re: precise and neat to watch
Sat, June 28, 2008 - 9:39 PMI AGREE with you all on the music, it has become a little tired - HOWEVER - look at where he was performing:
Colorado Springs 2008 Youth Transformation Center Talent Show
I have a feeling that the folks in the audience wouldn't know tribal from cabaret from Egyptian. If such is the case, then the mix of music was a nice little blend to show off different facets of tribal dance. Also the music clips were fairly short, so no one could get bored with one style.
If this was at a tribal festival, you are ABSOLUTELY right - people in the audience might have groaned over the music selection.
Just my $0.02

Re: precise and neat to watch
Sun, June 29, 2008 - 9:43 AMI thought it was fabulous [and I am Egyptian style] I liked the music transitions as I did not get bored.. sometimes a tribal piece will be the same rythum for 5 or 6 minutes.. that is boring... but I understand the comments about same tired music from the "superstars" .. at AmCab /Egyptian shows we hear over and over BDSS music tracks. Especially at contest in the beginner catagories... arghh listening to the same thing over and over.... boring
any who.. back to the clip - I loved his costume - kept him a man.. and his style [hands a tad fem..] but well done -

Sun, June 29, 2008 - 2:56 PMthefunny thing is the first track is a "indigo" song. The performance was good I liked his sharp style but his arms felt uncomfortable to me.
