The first installment in a free, online series: www.revver.com/video/9519...lls-part-1/

I'm putting this together as a tool for my students and thought others might be able to use it, as well.

that angle of your hands is so much better than the other vid's i've seen (admittedly, that's not a lot) it is much easier to follow what your hands are doing that way than watching from an audience perspective.
    thank you!

I'm glad to hear it works. I wanted the camera to show my hands the way you would see your own while you're playing the zills. My husband did his best, but he was having trouble not getting my head and shoulder in the shot, so he had to move to one side more than I originally planned. Still, I think it works the way I intended.

Maybe your husband could stand on a stool next time so he does not have to worry about your shoulders and he could film from above?
Question: what do you make of it when you have a set of four matching zills and two different tones, one higher, one lower?

Good idea. I asked if he could do that, but he wanted the stability of the tripod, so we the camera image wouldn't shake, and the tripod doesn't extend up that high. Then I suggested that I sit on the floor and he point the camera down at my hands, but we were still getting my head and shoulder in the way. LOL!

ok, then, tell him to stand on the kitchen table and put his tripod on it too. How about that?
And you could always try not looking at your zills while playing them and get your head out of the way. ; ) Anbyway, looking forward to your next video.
