Re: Grimey hip hop fusion
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 6:14 AMEnjoyed her dancing, nice use of the music and beautiful control of her movements.
Also, great control not smacking those kids! Talk about being upstaged, LOL. -

Re: Grimey hip hop fusion
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 9:22 AMGood job! Love the contrasting orange pants, too!
As far as the kids go, this is exactly why at most of the haflas that I've been to, they say that kids are welcome, but must be controlled...it's even discouraged to bring small children, cuz most parents just don't seem to understand that we're there to dance, not have kids running around under foot...they're cute, but if it had been me, those two would have ended up out the door! Horribly, horribly rude! -

Fri, May 8, 2009 - 9:58 AMYou don't have kids, do you?
My teacher danced especially for a little kid watching her show, for a few moments, at her last performance I saw, and some of those little ones dance better than the big ones. ; ) -

Re: Grimey hip hop fusion
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 10:04 AMYes, I do...I have two...and if mine had acted like that at a performance, they would have have been escorted out the door! They were taught at a very young age that if you're at a public event, you act like young ladies and gents, not like a couple of wild animals! -

Re: Grimey hip hop fusion
Mon, May 11, 2009 - 3:00 PMI agree with Rebekah. There is a difference between a child that is enjoying the performance and comes up to the stage to get a closer look and these two wild animals. This is just rude.

Mon, May 11, 2009 - 3:38 PMKudos to your friend!! What an excellent performance and doubly so considering those kids. I hope their parents got a thorough tongue lashing after that. VERY inconsiderate. -

Re: Grimey hip hop fusion
Tue, May 12, 2009 - 12:45 PMI agree. Kids should be controlled at a performance taking place on a big stage. People spend months working on their 5 minute performances, give them the chance to strut their stuff without the distractions of kids at the front of the stage.
I have children and I would never let them behave in such a fashion. There is a big difference between a party or casual hafla with open dancing and stage performances. There is a time and place to include children and that show wasn't it.
